Leia Achampong
Senior Policy and Advocacy Officer - Climate Finance
Leia Achampong is a climate change and women’s rights activist. Achampong began working on climate change issues in 2011 on policy, advocacy, (network) coordination and in communications and events. In 2017, Achampong was lucky enough to have participated in the US State Department's International Visitors Leadership Programme (IVLP) on climate change and energy. The experience exposed Achampong to different challenges, solutions, and stakeholders, and is where Achampong made some of her closet friends and debating partners.
In April 2020 Achampong joined Eurodad to start-up and lead Eurodad's policy work and research on climate finance. Prior to this, Achampong worked at the WWF - European Policy Office, and has also worked at Climate Action Network – Europe and Campaign Against Climate Change.
Achampong holds a Masters degree in Sustainability Sciences and Policy from Maastricht University, and is currently developing a PhD proposal. Hailing from the United Kingdom, Achampong strongly believes in the EU Project.
